The second Zhongshan Talent Festival – Zhongshan Marine Engineering Industry Forum and The Zhongshan-Hong Kong-Macau Experts/Academics Exchanging Conference & “Foreign Talents Program” Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony took place at Zhongshan City on 28 March 2015, co-hosted by local government, the Wuhan University of Technology and the leading group of talent festival. Dr TONG and Ir. Cammy CHAN, president of The Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology, attended this ceremony.

“Help Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas” (or “HOME Programme”) cooperation agreements were signed between Zhongshan and The Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology and The Macau Institution of Engineers separately. This program aims at introducing foreign talents through promoting exchanges and cooperation with overseas folk science and technology communities, in the form of seminars, short-term part-time jobs, collaborative projects, investigations and exchanges, technical training and consultancies, and intermediate services.

At the forum, experts and academics talked about the challenges and opportunities of the development of the marine engineering industry, thoroughly discussed the tendency of China’s marine engineering industry technologies, and negotiated the development of the Zhongshan marine engineering industry and talent highland.

Experts and academics from Zhongshan, Hong Kong and Macau visited a critical strategy platform in Cuiheng district, Zhongshan city in the afternoon and other two famous enterprises, Mingyang Wind Power and Guangxin Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Company Limited.
