China’s New Technology Development and Industrial Development Exchange
From July 5 to 8, 2015, as the current chairman of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Science and Technology Industry Promotion Association, Dr Aaron TONG was invited to attend a delegation arranged by the China Zhi Gong Party to Beijing and Tianjin for exchanges on China’s new technological development and industrial development.
Under the reception of Dr Wan Gang, the Minister of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology, the current Chairman of the Zhi Gong Party, and Dr Cao Xiaohong, the Deputy Mayor of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government, he visited many key national science and technology laboratories and large-scale enterprises to learn about China’s science and technology development plans. And jointly discuss the direction and goals of future technological development.
The delegation visited the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) in the Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. BEPC is China’s first high-energy accelerator. Its performance is excellent, and the collision brightness is more than dozens of times that of the similar accelerator SPEAR in the United States. In 2012, CERN announced the discovery of “God Particles”, and Chinese scientists immediately proposed to use the experience of BEPC to build a high-energy circular electron-positron collider (CEPC) before 2030 to accurately measure “God Particles” and other standards. The nature of the particle model, the current Large Hadron Collider of the European Nuclear Research Center is 27 kilometres in diameter, and the CEPC goal is 100 kilometres in diameter, which is currently the most important elementary particle research program in the world.
